Part 1: Over/Under Guard Pass – Over the Leg

by Tom Reynolds on November 21, 2010

Part II is here.

The Over/Under Guard Pass is one of the most versatile guard passes because there are so many options.  If your opponent blocks you in one direction, they are setting up the guard pass to the opposite side.  This pass works well in gi, no gi, and MMA.

Part Two of this guard pass is going to be posted later this week.  I’m going to show how to pass on the underhook side.

I like the slow mo commentary.

Great, I’ll do more in the future.

Why do you need to standup?

    • Eric

Standing up to pass the guard gives you more leverage on their legs to open the guard.

      Good question.
